NATIONAL BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION
TEAM REBRANDING
NBA Timberwolves Executives had a mandate for NBA creative honcho, Tom O’Grady, they wanted a tough, aggressive looking wolf reflective of the Bulls logo but with a more modern and intimidating style. O’Grady created a tough focused with supported by a tree line series of graphics. Additionally, Minnesota would have a “new slate blue” primary color with forest green, midnight black with a touch of silver. The TIMBERWOLVES jersey lettering was designed to reflect toughness, with sharp edges and shapes. The TM secondary logo became a popular extension of the primary logo. At the time of the rebrand, the team drafted Kevin Garnett who brought enormous attention to the Wolves. The black alternate Wolves jersey is a popular sought-after NBA throwback uniform.
